Link building not for the sexually frustrated.
By Ted Botting
Let me tell you something about sex, money and porn online that you are going to find out about anyway soon enough. You get out there to build links to your site just like everybody else and you attract inbound links as well, which is out of your control. Perhaps you have a web site selling sports equipment and sooner or later you find lots of porn sites targeting you, what do you do, nothing because you can’t stop people linking to your site as far as I know. What do the search engines do about it, nothing because they can’t stop them either but at least they don’t discredit you for these links because they know you are powerless like they are? Yes the truth is if you start building links then you will get porn sites coming to your site even if it is a site about child protection because all these people are doing is building outbound links to disguise themselves from search engines. They have software to do it for them that build hundreds of links they don’t even know where the links are going never mind about caring because it’s done by a machine. These links help to disguise the site for a little while by which time they have made a killing plus in the mean time everybody who has a site and looks at their stats gets, tempted, disgusted, angry, takes a look or even buys a membership so it is a really good way of selling under the table. A ready made list of new prospects for them to plunder that only costs pennies on the dollar. If you are sexually frustrated then link building might cost you more than you think. If you have a blog then you can expect the same in terms of blog spam, these same people do the same thing but with blog comments, ok so you just delete the spam folder every day, yes every day. Every day you can get any number of these spam comments which consist of a long list of porn sites 50-100 and they are not really targeted at your blog they are targeted at you. I do not want to get too descriptive but this stuff is disgusting to say the least and only shows that people will do anything to make money. If you think that Internet marketing spam is bad it is nothing compared to porn spam. Finally a word of advice, do not opt out of spammy emails you get from some guru you signed up to, why you might ask, yes why indeed. The reason is quite simple, ok so they honor their commitment to you by not sending anymore emails directly from that system but they all too often send from another system or sell your email address to others so they can do the same. If you start opting out of email systems then watch how much spam suddenly starts arriving in your in box, money making scams, meds, porn, all sorts of rubbish you didn't ask for so don't opt out get it in the spam box. Throw your spam in the spam box where it belongs as far as I know all spam boxes delete emails automatically so your email client does the work for you. They keep sending you crap and it costs them money, only a very small amount of money but it still costs money, their money not yours it reduces their profit margins and too many people do not take advantage of their spam box. While they are sending crap to your spam box they are not selling your email address so quickly and you are not getting as much crap. Good luck with your link building.

Thank you for sharing this information on link building, Ted. We all can use it. Keep up the great intels. Frederick
Good point about unsubscribing. I got so much spam that I had to shut down some emails I used to have in order to stop it. I learned the hard way.
What an intriguing title! I couldn't pass reading this intel. But I don't quite follow - why would pron sites link to your site? What benefit does it bestow on them?

Hi Brad Leon. Sorry about this but I am not quite sure all I know is my blogs are about drawing but I get porn sites linking to them and I have read about other people having links from them as well. My only guess is that they use out bound links to help confuse spiders and disguise the site. I have 3 porn sites linked to me that I don't want but the worst is blog spam from them I have to clear this out of my spam everyday and it seemed to start when I set up an RSS feed with Feedburner. I found this article link below that might be of some help in understanding more about why they link to none porn sites. http://lawsie.blogspot.com/2009/05/porn-sites-in-your-referers-stats.html Thanks, Ted.
